PRINCIPLES OF DATA PROCESSING

When processing data, we adhere to the principles of lawfulness, proportionality, purpose limitation, transparency—particularly compliance with information obligations—and data security.

Personal data, as defined in these data protection provisions, refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, hereinafter referred to as the “data subject.” This includes, in particular, your first and last name, address, email address, country of residence, and any other data necessary for the purpose of the processing.

Personal data also includes information about your use of our website. In this context, we collect personal data from you as follows: information about your visits to our website, such as the scope of data transmission, the location from which you access data on our website, as well as other connection data and the pages you visit. This is generally done through the use of log files and cookies. You can find more information about log files and cookies below.

The data is used to analyze trends and user behavior, and above all to provide you with the best possible service. The information collected may be used for marketing, advertising, and communication purposes. The data may be used to improve your user experience through personalization. The data collected will not be sold to third parties. The data may be shared with partner companies.

SHELF LIFE

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected. We retain it for a longer period if required by legal or regulatory obligations or for legitimate interests.

If we collect your IP address, it is stored only for the duration of your visit to the website and is then immediately deleted or anonymized.

Other data is retained for a limited period of time, based on the following criteria: the statutory retention period or our legitimate interest in retaining it, e.g., for the performance of the contract or for the purpose of preserving evidence. The relevant data is then systematically deleted.

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to request information about the personal data we process about you. In particular, you may request information regarding the personal data itself, the purpose of the processing, the retention period, or—if this is not possible—the criteria used to determine that period, the source of your data if it was not collected directly from you, the existence of any automated individual decision-making, and, where applicable, the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data is disclosed.

You also have the right to withdraw any consent you may have given for the use of your personal data at any time. You may exercise your rights as described above at any time by contacting us at the address provided.

If you believe that our processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection laws, you may file a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

DISCLOSURE TO THIRD PARTIES

We share your data exclusively with selected third parties listed in this privacy policy, and only for the purposes explicitly stated. If we engage third parties to process data, they are contractually obligated to comply with our data protection requirements.

Your data may be disclosed if we are required to do so by law or if it is necessary to protect our rights, particularly to exercise the rights granted to us under the contract we have entered into. This may include, for example, the disclosure of information for the purposes of criminal prosecution, threat prevention, or the enforcement of intellectual property rights.

WEB ANALYSIS

In order to continuously improve the quality of our services, we use the following technologies on our website.

USING SCRIPT LIBRARIES

In order to properly display content or protect it from spam, we use script libraries and font libraries on our website (e.g., Google Web Fonts for fonts). Using these script and font libraries establishes a connection with the library provider. It is possible that the library operator may collect data through this connection.

Every time you visit our website, we collect the following information about your computer: your computer’s IP address, your browser’s request, and the time of that request. In addition, the status and amount of data transmitted are recorded as part of this request. We also collect information about the product and version of the browser used and your computer’s operating system. We also record the website from which access to our site occurred.

Your computer’s IP address is stored only for the duration of your visit to the website and is then immediately deleted or anonymized by truncation. We use this data to operate our website, including to detect and correct website errors, to determine website usage rates, and to make adjustments or improvements.

COOKIES

In some cases, we may use cookies. These cookies allow us to tailor the information and features on our website to each user.

For example, we use cookies to temporarily store the services you have selected and the data you have entered when filling out a form on the website, so that you do not have to re-enter this information when you visit another subpage. Cookies are also used, where applicable, to identify you as a registered user after you have registered on the website, so that you do not have to log in again when you visit another subpage.

If you do not wish to use cookies, you can configure your browser to prevent cookies from being stored. Please note that in this case, you will only be able to use our website to a limited extent, or not at all. If you only wish to accept our own cookies and not those of our service providers and partners, you can select the “Block third-party cookies” setting in your browser.

WHEN USING A CONTACT FORM

You can use a form to contact us. To do so, you must provide the following personal information.

We use this data and other optional information (title, address, phone number, and company name) solely to respond to your request as effectively as possible.

REGARDING NEWSLETTERS AND THE USE OF MAILCHIMP

We use third-party email marketing services to send emails. As a result, our emails may contain a “web beacon” or similar technical means. A web beacon is an invisible image file, one pixel in size, linked to the email subscriber’s user ID.

Each newsletter sent includes information about the mailing list used, the subject line, and the number of newsletters sent. It is also possible to see which addresses have not yet received the newsletter, to which addresses it was sent, and for which addresses delivery failed; generally, you can also view the open rate and see which addresses opened the newsletter and which addresses unsubscribed from the mailing list.

Our newsletter is created and sent using Mailchimp. Mailchimp is owned by Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. Mailchimp is a service that allows us to organize and analyze the distribution of the newsletter. The data you enter to subscribe to the newsletter (e.g., email address) is stored on Mailchimp’s servers. Sending our newsletters via Mailchimp allows us to analyze the behavior of their recipients. In particular, we can determine how many recipients opened the message and how many clicked on the various links it contains. This data is processed based on your consent. You may revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. A link for this purpose is included in every message. You also have the option to unsubscribe directly via email. The legality of data processing operations already carried out is not affected by the revocation. The data you provide to us when subscribing to the newsletter is stored by us until you unsubscribe, after which it is deleted from our servers as well as from Mailchimp’s servers. Data we have stored for other purposes is not affected. We have entered into a contract with Mailchimp for the processing of requests and strictly adhere to the strict requirements of data protection legislation when using this service.

Further information on Mailchimp’s data processing is available at the following link:https://mailchimp.com/.

SECURITY MEASURES

All information you provide to us is stored on servers located in Switzerland/the European Union. Unfortunately, the transmission of information over the Internet is not entirely secure, which is why we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to our website via the Internet. However, we protect our website and other systems with technical and organizational measures against the loss, destruction, unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure of your data. In particular, your personal data is transmitted to us in encrypted form. We use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) [or TLS (Transport Layer Security)] encryption system for this purpose.

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to diligently protect your data against loss, destruction, falsification, manipulation, or unauthorized access. We operate secure data networks that comply with current technical standards. Our security measures are continuously adapted and improved in line with technological advancements.

Our employees and the service providers we engage are bound by confidentiality and are required to comply with applicable data protection laws.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time with future effect. An updated version is available on our website. We encourage you to visit the website regularly to review the current privacy policy.
